After a winter break of almost two months, 03.02.25 marked the first day for the trainees of both 2nd and 4th semesters of all three DIETs of Sikkim.The first day at DIET, Gyalshing commenced with a reminder of the aims, roles and goals of the student teachers and the rules and regulations of the institution by the Principal and the faculty members during the assembly hour. As the day was also observed as Saraswati puja/ Vasant Panchami, Principal Madam highlighted on the significance of the day relating Goddess Saraswati as the representation of knowledge, wisdom and art.

With the circulation of class schedules and orientation of subjects they shall have to study in their respective semesters, the day ended with a staff meeting where many academic aspects were discussed and planned.

Second day ie 04.02.25 began with the demonstration of TLMs on mathematics during the assembly hour by Ms. Sadhna Gurung, Lecturer, Science. Afternoon session, as discussed in the previous day meet, was devoted by all the faculty members in the orientation of trainees of both sems on New Textbooks of Foundational and Preparatory stages. Same shall continue for this week during the afternoon sessions.where trainees will be oriented on various teaching skills, methodologies,techniques and strategies to effectively deliver instruction in subjects like Maths, English and EVS.

It has to be mentioned here that 08 faculty members of DIET, Gyalshing had undergone a training at SCERT on "Textbook orientation in alignment with NCF -FS and NCF-SC " wef 23rd to 27th of January,2025.

DIET, Gyalshing always believes on the sharing, updating and capacity building of student teachers as far as possible.

We wish all the students of Government schools of Sikkim whose 2025 session commenced along with ours and all the teacher trainees of DIETs the very best for their new academic session.
